It’s crazy how quickly time is flying by this year. We are one day away from the 4th of July and I have no earthly idea what I’m making to celebrate…except for the drinks. I have the drink menu down and ready to go.
With good eats and drinks on my mind here are my top picks to ring in the 4th!
I am a sucker for Sangria. Any excuse to drink it or make it and I am there. Until this week I’d never even heard of Watermelon Sangria, until I started looking through the pages of The Pioneer Woman’s holiday cookbook. Not only is this recipe super simple to make, it only requires 3 ingredients and is the perfect drink for summer. I cannot wait to try this out!
I’ve never been a huge fan of regular lemonade because it’s just too tart for me, so I was searching for something a little on the sweeter side and ended up finding Emeril Lagasse’s Strawberry Lemonade recipe. That was at least 10 years ago. Since then, this is my go-to recipe that never lasts more than a day in my house and I’m sure it won’t take long before this is all gone on Tuesday!
For the past three years, this pie has stolen the spotlight during the Fourth of July. If you’ve never had a Blueberry Custard Pie I’d strongly suggest giving this recipe a whirl. It’s simple to make and will have everyone begging for seconds.
Ever since I saw Marcela Valladolid make this Grilled Caesar Salad recipe on an episode of The Kitchen, I have been dying to try it. Okay, okay…I know salad isn’t the first thing that comes to mind for the Fourth of July but watching her make this dish had my mouth watering. This is a must!
Rather than your typical ‘burgers and hot dogs’ for the 4th, I’m up for a change. Not 100% sure what we’ll be grilling tomorrow but man does this look good. Pork chops marinaded with a little soy sauce, brown sugar, herbs, then tossed on the grill for 6-8 minutes. It doesn’t get any easier than that. For more details on this yummy recipe, head on over to bon appétit.
Who doesn’t love jalapeño poppers? Not only are they simple to make, they’re ready in no time. If you’re looking for a quick and delicious appetizer consider making The Pioneer Woman’s Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Thingies. All you need is 3 simple ingredients; bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeños.
Anytime we have a cookout at my place I always have to have grilled corn. Don’t ask me why, but I just love it. Now I wasn’t thinking of doing anything different than I already do for corn until I visited Blissful Basil and saw Grilled Cilantro, Lime + Paprika Corn On The Cob. I am sold and will definitely be making this tomorrow.
I’m sure I could go on and on, and keep listing a number of mouthwatering recipe ideas I’ve stumbled across for this 4th of July, but I seriously need to start writing out my grocery list and start planning out my menu for tomorrow. Happy grilling!
