Are the new L’Oréal Pure Clay Masks worth a buy or should you say “bye!”?
I’m always into trying out new face masks. Not so much because I like to take care of my skin (I’ve GOT to get better at that…), but because I like to just sit in silence for a good 15 minutes and relax. I was watching a YouTube video the other day and an ad for the new L’Oréal Pure Clay Masks was playing. What caught my eye about the ad was that the girls in the video were putting 3 different masks on their faces! How fun does that sound? I got out of the video and started looking more into the masks.
There are 3 different masks in this line; Detox & Brighten, Purify & Mattify and Exfoliate & Refining. I saw some commenters on social media speculating that the Detox & Brighten mask may be similar to the Glamglow Supermud mask, which piqued my interest even more.
The more I looked into the masks, I started reading up on multi-masking, which is exactly what those girls in the ad were doing. Duh! How have I never thought of that? Not all skin on our face is the same. My cheeks can be dry while my chin is oily, so why have I always used one general product on my face? It’s never even crossed my mind. I was off to the store to get my multi-masking on!
The first thing I noticed about the masks was the smell. The Purify & Mattify and Exfoliate & Refining smell really good; the Detox & Brighten, not so much. But what can you really expect from a charcoal mask? It smells like charcoal. I can live with that.
I ended up putting the Exfoliating & Refining mask on my forehead and lower cheeks, the Purify & Mattify on my chin and the Detox & Brighten on my cheeks and nose. Cue the 15 minutes of relaxation! The Detox & Brighten mask does the same thing as the Glamglow mask; as it dries, you get to see all the pores on your face. (I’m guessing that’s what it is…either way, it makes you feel like it’s working…right?!) I rinsed off the masks and my skin was left feeling smooth, clean and fabulous. I’ve since used them each individually and the Detox & Brighten works best for my skin all over, but I do enjoy the multi-masking concept the most.
Soo…buy or bye, you may ask?
I’d definitely say these are a must-buy! Especially if you’re wanting to switch up your mask routine and try something new or just treat yourself ’cause ya can! Two outta three of them smell amazing and they each do their job perfectly.
