There I was…reading this month’s Glamour magazine…and the ads got to me again. It was time for a Walgreens shopping spree! Sometimes a girl just needs to re-amp her skin care routine and just get some fun lip colors to change things up a bit, right? That’s what I tell myself at least. Here’s what I got!
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water
All my favorite beauty gurus have been raving over micellar water so I finally decided to test it out for myself. Micellar water is some crazy oil-free makeup remover/cleanser that looks like it has oil floating in it but really it’s tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules suspended in soft water. The first night I used it to remove my makeup, it immediately felt like I hadn’t worn makeup in days. My skin wasn’t dry but it wasn’t oily either. It was just normal…I can’t really describe it but all I know is that I love it! If you haven’t tried it out, you definitely should.
Burt’s Bees Radiance Night Cream with Royal Jelly
I love me some Burt’s Bees! At least 10 times a day I put on the Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and have multiple lip balms throughout my house. I need to get better about my nightly skin care routine, besides just taking off my makeup, so I thought this would be a great start. The smell isn’t too strong, which is good because I don’t like strong smells on my face, especially at night. I have pretty normal skin but have a few dry patches, too. This cream is light enough that my skin can still breathe but still moisturizes throughout the night.
Yes to Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer
Yes to has always been one of my favorite beauty product brands. I use the Yes to Blueberries Foaming Facial Cleanser every morning and love their Cucumber Facial Wipes. I’ve been using the Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Souffle Moisturizer but have been wanting something a little lighter. This moisturizer is just what I needed. It’s much lighter and I smell the slightest hint of cinnamon…maybe I’m crazy and just Fall obsessed right now. But dang it smells good!
The lippies I treated myself to were Maybelline’s Blushing Beige and Going Greige (inspired by Jennifer!) and Loreal’s Collection Exclusive, Liya’s Pink, which is definitely my favorite of the 3. Not only is it a gorgeous color, it super smooth on the lips, stays well and it’s the perfect amount of matte.
I have a horrible habit of biting my nails. The one thing that makes me bite them just a little bit less is cute nail polish. But, I also have horrible patience! I can’t stand painting my nails and messing up with every swipe of the brush…then waiting for them to dry…ugh. Glittery polish is my go to ’cause I can mess up as much as I want and they’ll still look cute! I actually put a coat of both Summit of Style and A Cut Above, which gave my nails a really cool rose gold effect. Loving the glitz and glam!
Until next haul!
