Every time I walk into the beauty section of any store I’m instantly drawn to the aisle full of body scrubs. But just as quickly as I get on that aisle I’m quickly gone once I see that shiny little price tag telling me how much the scrub I want costs. Why spend $20 or more on a body scrub when you can make one at home for half the cost using ingredients you probably already have in your pantry?
After learning all of the benefits associated with coffee, I ultimately decided I wanted to create a coffee scrub. A few of those benefits include:
Exfoliating dry skin
Firming and tightening skin to help reduce the appearance of cellulite
There are plenty of different ways to make a coffee scrub, from using granulated sugar, to sea salt, and even brown sugar which is what we’ll be using for this particular scrub. However, feel free to put your own little twist on this recipe and make it your very own, one of a kind coffee scrub.
Here’s what you’ll need ladies:
1 cup coffee grounds
1 cup loosely packed brown sugar
1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract
1⁄4 cup softened coconut oil
Simply mix all the ingredients together until well combined. We recommend using an airtight jar to store your scrub and placing it in a cool dry place for storage.
One of the great things about this coffee scrub is that you can apply it anywhere! As with any scrub, be sure to gently massage onto face or body in a circular motion. Exfoliate every few days or once a week depending on skin type.
Not only will your skin have a natural glow, but it will leave you feeling refreshed and ready for bikini season in no time!
